Green Building

We are Certified Green Professionals (CGP) with the National Association of Homebuilders. This exclusive designation indicates that we are knowledgeable about strategies for incorporating green building principals into homes using cost-effective and affordable options. During the design process, we can guide you on energy, water and resource efficiency; provide information on indoor air and environmental quality; and explore sustainable building options for incorporating appropriate green products that fit the style of your home.

In addition to incorporating green materials and techniques into conventionally framed homes, we offer expertise in timber framing, a form of sustainable design and construction that has been in practice much longer than green home building has been in vogue. As a timber frame builder, we are pleased to have recently been chosen as an independent representative for Timberpeg, the Artisans of Post and Beam®. Timberpeg® shares our passion for sustainable design and construction, providing package components that will contribute to reaching Energy Star and/or LEED certification:

  • Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified Douglas fir and Eastern white pine
  • SFI Certified materials
  • Salvaged/recycled timbers on request
  • Windows utilizing wood from Sustainable Forestry Initiative certified mills
  • Low-E windows
  • Energy efficient Energy Star Certified Structural Insulated Panels
  • When pre-stained timbers are requested, No-VOC or Lo-VOC products are available.

Because most of the Timberpeg® package is cut and prefit in its manufacturing facility, the amount of site waste is very small. Timberpeg® also collects cut-offs, sawdust, metal strapping and many other materials resulting from the manufacturing process and recycles them locally.
